Gentle Yoga & iRest Meditation

Gentle Yoga & iRest Meditation

Kyo Yoga & Healing

This class is designed for those with nervous systems that need pacification.
The first 30 minutes of class will offer gentle-therapeutic yoga postures to prepare the body to rest comfortably.
The second half of the session will be a guided iRest Yoga Nidra meditation practice.

What is iRest?
iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation is an evidence based meditation practise originally designed to work with trauma, pain and PTSD. However it is a practice that can assist anyone looking for greater clarity and mental wellbeing or wishing to explore deeper self awareness. Developed by Richard Miller, a psychologist and Yoga Therapist it is practised world wide by thousands of people.

How is it different to other meditation?
As a guided meditation, the participant is simply asked to listen and receive.  iRest evolved from the Yoga teachings of the multi layered human system – and the understanding that healing can begin on any layer be it physical, emotional, mental or energetic.
The goal of iRest is to experience yourself as whole and healthy by accessing the part of you that does not need healing – essential nature.

It welcomes an experience of ‘simply being’ without the need to fix, change or do. It is a profoundly grounding and revealing practice that can assist anyone but especially those with a nervous system that is experiencing disregulation.

Participants will be guided progressively through the iRest protocol over the 8 weeks.
No meditation experience is required and the practice can be done lying or seated.

Fridays 11.00am from February 6 – March 27
